Country: Senegal
Sector: Gender, Emergency Response
Background:
In the early stages of COVID-19, there was a lack of data on how gender roles, care burdens, and economic shocks were affecting women and girls across urban and rural contexts.
Approach:
We implemented a mixed-methods rapid assessment using phone interviews, digital polls, and SMS prompts. The sample included 1,000 women across five regions, segmented by age, employment status, and household type.
